The universal loving kindness exercise was enlightening.
Going through the motions every day, a person can get away from the important
things in life. This exercise kind of reminded me to be conscious of others and
not just myself. It also made me realize I could be helping others more than I
do. The act of giving can be very rewarding and powerful.
Sometimes I truly forget to just let things go. I keep
feelings and stressors bottled up until something makes me implode. It’s not healthy
to be that way and it’s important to realize that everything won’t go my way
now can I fix everything. This area is really important for growth and
development to me. In order for me to be a happier person I need to accept the
things I cannot change for good or bad. Some exercises that may help me could
be Yoga or meditation. I really enjoy the silence as I do not get it as much as
I would like. A really hot bath also helps me feel better as well. Something
about a hot tub that just makes you unwind and distress.
Reanne,
ReplyDeleteI agree, this loving-kindness exercise has been nothing but a enlightening and positive. Its great when we can learn things in school that greatly benefit our own personal lives as well as give us the tools to help others. Letting things go is a tough one. Not easy to just up and change, What line of development do you think this might fall under?
